Thousands of people turned out in Dumfries last night for the Big Burns Supper Carnival Parade.

A lantern procession and floats toured the town centre, with the night ending in a firework display.

The event is now in its 5th year and organisers say it's been the best one yet:

It's all about the whole town and the surrounding area having amazing fun- this is what it's all about, lets celebrate Burns, we are the greatest place in the universe!
