The Whitesands in Dumfries flooded and many the roads have been closed. The river will continue to rise this evening.
The Esk at Langholm has also burst its banks. Homes within George Street in the town were evacuated by Police Scotland and a care centre established. It's expected to remain open during Sunday.
Some flooding has been reported in areas of Annandale and Eskdale including Wamphray, Cummertrees and Hoddom.
