Carlisle City Council wants the public's views on plans for a new toucan crossing and pedestrian footpath at Castle Way.
Cumbria County Council has given controversial plans for a pedestrian crossing outside Carlisle castle the go ahead.
The report given to the council was recommended for approval, and today it has been decided that there will now be a pedestrian 'toucan' crossing built on Castleway.
The works would be funded by money provided by Sainsbury's, because when the company built its superstore in Caldewgate it agreed to fund transport related improvements in the area.
