Man fights to keep 9ft cross in memory of wife
A grieving man who put up a crucifix on top of Workington’s slag banks is continuing his fight to keep it in place.
Peter Nelson, who erected the 9 foot cross in memory of his wife Angela, is still in limbo over its future.
He has since been carrying out investigations into ways he can avoid removing the cross and has attended meetings about applying for retrospective planning permission.
