A long-running legal battle over the so-called "Penrith pong" has finally been settled in court. Alba Proteins Limited, who run an animal rendering plant, at Wildriggs agreed a settlement with lawyers who represented 88 families from the area.

Alba Proteins Limited, who run an animal rendering plant, at their Wildriggs plant on the outskirts of Penrith, agreed a settlement with lawyers who represented 88 families from the area.
The agreement will see a so-called independent odour consultant appointed who'll make unannounced visits over the next three years. Two of the claimants will also join the existing liaison committee.
