Nearly £15 million has been raised to help bring mining back Cumbria.
West Cumbria Mining has raised £14.7 million for the first stage of the project it wants to open next to the former Haig Colliery in Whitehaven, West Cumbria.
The company aims to open the mine to extract coking coal which is used in the steel making industry.
