Around fifty staff and customers escaped unhurt from a hotel in the Lake District after a major fire started at the back of the building.

Parts of the The Queen's Head Hotel at Troutbeck have been completely destroyed after it was engulfed by flames last night.

People who were due to stay at the venue have been found alternative accommodation.
