British Rally Championship comes to Carlisle

More than 125 cars are arriving in Carlisle for the first round of the British Rally Championship. On Saturday they will tackle stags in Kielder and on Sunday they will rally around the forests of Kershope.

Day two of the Pirelli rally in Carlisle

After tackling six forest stages around the Kielder complex on Saturday, more than 70 rally crews will be back in action today.

The Pirelli rally is the first round of the British Rally Championship and has attracted entries from all over the UK.

The drivers have had an overnight stop in Carlisle to give themselves and their cars a chance to recover.

Day two begins at 9.23am at the Blacklyne stage in Kershope forest. Competitors face another 30 miles of stages before the ceremonial finish in Carlisle city centre around 12.30pm.
