Police to patrol Carlisle with medics on 'Black Eye Friday'

Police in Carlisle will be joined by medics as they patrol the city on Friday 20 December, commonly known as 'Black Eye Friday' or 'Festive Friday'.

The move comes in an attempt to prevent alcohol-fuelled problems on what is one of the most notorious drinking days of the year.

There will also be an emergency services and advice mobile office in the heart of the city's nightlife hotspots.

The move will also take place on New Year's Eve.
