Hope that Rescue Service grant will help bring in new volunteers

The Port William Inshore Rescue Services have received a £240,000 grant to help upgrade their facilities.

Dumfries and Galloway European Fisheries awarded the money to the team to help the buy a new rescue boat.

Its hoped the money with also encourage younger people to join the team:

"We're hoping the new facilities will help encourage the younger, a younger set in and keep them there, I mean we are getting old, a few of us are getting a bit too old for doing this kind of work, it would be nice for the young people to step in and carry it on."
