Future of MOD Longtown
Defence Minister Philip Dunne has been meeting councillors at the Longtown MOD site to discuss the future of the site. It was previously announced that the site would remain open, but that a number of jobs would be lost.
Defence Minister hopeful after Longtown MOD meeting
Defence Minister Philip Dunne has been at MOD Longtown to hear more about the future of the site.
It was announced last month the munitions depot wouldn't close after years of uncertainty but 53 jobs are set to go.
Mr Dunne spoke to unions and the council about the jobs and about plans to build an industry hub on some of the 1,300 acre site.
