Future of MOD Longtown
Defence Minister Philip Dunne has been meeting councillors at the Longtown MOD site to discuss the future of the site. It was previously announced that the site would remain open, but that a number of jobs would be lost.

There's relief for workers in Longtown this evening after it emerged the local Ministry of Defence depot will remain open.
However, it isn't all good news - despite a one million pound investment from the UK government, 53 people will lose their jobs.
