'Lady in the Lake' killer inquest decision

An inquest jury has decided that a man who killed his wife and dumped her body in Coniston Water in Cumbria committed suicide in jail.

Gordon Park was serving a life sentence at a prison in Lancashire for what was known as the 'Lady in the Lake' murder.

The body of his first wife Carol was found by an amateur diver 21 years after he killed her with an ice axe.

The inquest at Preston heard that Park had become increasingly depressed in jail after his appeal was dismissed and he was refused visits by a church pastor.
