300 divers took part in the first mass 'debris dive' in the Lake District today. Several tonnes of rubbish are expected to be removed from Windermere during the course of the day.
Today's 'debris dive' in Windermere was organised by TV presenter and explorer Paul Rose. As well as the obvious benefits to the local area, Paul wanted to use the dive to highlight the wider problem of rubbish being dumped in the oceans.
