Worst floods for 30 years in Newton Stewart

Homes and businesses in Newton Stewart are mopping up after torrential rain brought some of the worst flooding in living memory.

Saturated ground, a high tide and constant rain on Sunday evening and much of Monday, combined to make the River Cree wash into parts of the town.
