Flood warnings are in place across the region. Although there has been no serious flooding so far warnings remain in place around Carlisle and in the Borders. A further flood warning is likely to be issued for the Appleby area.
This is the 3pm shot of River Eden at Appleby - The Environment Agency predicted it would peak now and if the water doesn't come any higher it looks like Appleby will escape flooding.
The small village of Smardale near Kirkby Stephen was cut off by four feet of flood water.
Rail and road travel has been disrupted across the region as the bad weather continues.
