HRH Princess Alexandra will open Caerlaverock tearoom

HRH Princess Alexandra will formally open the Caerlaverock tearoom later this afternoon.

Princess Alexandra is known to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the area, visiting frequently. She offered to open the tearoom after visiting the estate last Christmas.

Both the shop and tearoom are housed in a new building in Glencaple, and are owned by Lady Mary Mumford and her sister.

The tearoom is located around five mies south of Dumfries and looks over the Solway Firth.
