A memorial is to be unveiled in memory of the cumbrian policeman who died during the 2009 floods. PC Bill Barker was swept away when the bridge he was standing on, trying to prevent others going on it, collapsed.
Around 200 people are attending an open air service in Workington's Curwen Park to witness Bill's wife received the Queen Commendation for bravery on behalf of her husband. A permanent memorial will then be unveiled in the park.
