Campaigner to carry Olympic torch

Andrew has been chosen to carry the Olympic flame through Gretna because of the work he has done campaigning for right for people with learning difficulties. Andrew is an inspirational figure for others fighting prejudice because of special educational needs.

He has fought for voting rights through the European courts and holds down a job at his local supermarket. Andrew said:

"I'm so proud to be representing everyone with learning difficulties at this amazing event. We have as much right as anyone else to lead happy, integrated lives. I hope this shows other people that challenges can be overcome and we can be whatever we want to be."
