The heatwave breaks with thunderstorms and weather warnings
Just hours after we enjoyed the hottest day of the year, thunder storms and heavy rain swept through Cumbria and southern Scotland.
A Met Office yellow weather warning is still in place and emergency services remain on standby.

Storm-hit school to reopen tomorrow
A Cumbrian school, which was closed after being damaged by this morning's storms, will reopen tomorrow.
Cockermouth School was closed to all students today following "severe storm damage".

Thousands affected by power cuts in Cumbria
Houses catch fire after lightning strikes
Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service has been called to two house fires caused by lightning strikes.
One house caught fire in Penruddock during the morning's storms, and another in Dalston at around 8am.
The fire service say that the fires were put out quickly, but have damaged both buildings considerably.
