Kingmoor Park to become Enterprise Zone
Kingmoor Park's bid to become an Enterprise Zone has been successful, Chancellor George Osborne announced in his Spending Review today.
Here is what you need to know about the business park:
It is a former RAF site, will two million square feet of office space available.
It is already home to around 100 businesses supporting 2,000 job.
Another 3,000 jobs could be created when it becomes an Enterprise Zone, from April 2016.
Workington's Lillyhall fails in Enterprise Zone bid
Lillyhall, in Workington, has missed out on a bid to become an Enterprise Zone.
In his Spending Review, Chancellor George Osborne announced that Kingmoor Park in Carlisle will be one of 25 new or extended zones.
But while Kingmoor Park has been successful, Lillyhall business park in Workington has NOT been named one of the Enterprise Zones.

Chancellor announces Carlisle will become Enterprise Zone
Chancellor George Osborne has announced £12 billion of funding for 26 new or extended Enterprise Zones, including Carlisle, Dorset and Ipswich.
The news means there should be additional funding and government support for enterprise schemes in the city.
It is understood the zone will be at Kingmoor Park in the north of Carlisle, and could create thousands of jobs.
The Zone will offer a reduction in business rates or tax relief for companies.
N. Ireland, Wales and Scotland to get grant increases
- Northern Ireland’s block grant will be over £11bn by 2019-20 – and funding for capital investment in new infrastructure will rise by over £600m over 5 years.
- Wales' block grant will reach almost £15bn by 2019-20 – and capital spending will rise by over £900m over 5 years.
- Scotland's block grant will be over £30bn in 2019-20 – while capital spending available will rise by £1.9bn
