A gamekeeper on the Buccleuch Estate has a second career as an artist.

Michael Batey has worked outdoors for twenty years but last year he took part in the SpringFling art festival in Dumfries and Galloway.

He sold all his paintings and now he dedicates his evenings to painting, with hopes to enter the SpringFling again this year.

He was encouraged to take up art by his teachers in school, but claims his time outdoors provides inspiration for his other job.
