The producer of a new ITV Drama has described why they are filming in the Lake District.

Safe House is a four-part series due to be aired in the spring. It centres on an old house in Coniston, and stars the former Doctor Who actor Christopher Eccleston.

Dr Who actor appeals to ITV Border viewers

Christopher Eccleston, who plays one of the main characters in a new ITV drama that's being filmed in the Lake District, has made an appeal to ITV Border viewers.

He wants to know more about treading, the art of catching fish with your feet, which he used to do when he visited Cumbria as a child.

Christopher Eccleston played the Ninth Doctor in the Doctor Who television series and has starred in films such as The Others, 28 Days Later and Elizabeth.
