Owners hope to restore and re-open pub
The owners of an historic Cumbrian pub damaged in a fire say they will restore the seventeenth century building to its former glory and re-open.
50 people escaped the blaze at The Queen's Head Hotel at Troutbeck near Windermere last week. Large parts of the roof had completely caved in but most of the downstairs and bar area was saved.
The cause is still unknown.
Owners seek hotel blaze helper
The owners of a Lakeland hotel gutted by fire are searching for the anonymous person who helped ensure it wasn't burned to the ground.
A farm worker used his quad bike to get firefighters hoses to a nearby beck.
The man has so far not been traced but the owners of the Queen's Head hotel at Troutbeck are keen to find him to pass on their thanks.

Road reopens following major fire
The A592 near to the Queens Head Hotel, Troutbeck, Windermere has reopened following a major fire at the building. Temporary traffic lights are in place in the area.

The 17th century coaching Inn is owned by Robinson Brewers. The Managing Director of the Pubs Division, William Robinson, spoke to ITV Border reporter Hannah McNulty. He says the company needs to assess the damage and hopes to reopen as soon as possible:
Fifty staff and customers in hotel when fire started
Around fifty staff and customers escaped unhurt from a hotel in the Lake District after a major fire started at the back of the building.
Parts of the The Queen's Head Hotel at Troutbeck have been completely destroyed after it was engulfed by flames last night.
People who were due to stay at the venue have been found alternative accommodation.

Parts of an historic hotel near Windermere have been 'totally destroyed' by a major fire.
The blaze started last night at the Queen's Head Hotel, Troutbeck.
Cumbria Fire Service has started investigating the cause of the fire but it is not thought to be suspicious at this stage.
Historic hotel badly damaged by fire
An historic hotel in the Lake District has been badly damaged after a major fire swept through the property last night.
Fire crews were called to the Queen's Head Hotel in Troutbeck, near Windermere, which was engulfed with flames.
The blaze has destroyed the roof in some places, and the back of the building is badly damaged.
Firefighters are still at the scene as investigations get underway.

Road closure due to serious fire
Due to the serious fire at the Queens Head Hotel near Windermere, the A592 is currently closed between Town Head and Troutbeck junctions.
Diversions are being put in place on the A66 for anything over 3.5 tonnes (HGV’s and coaches).
Motorists travelling from the southern end can use the A591 to Kendal and then the A6 or M6 North. Lighter vehicles are able to use The Struggle but are advised to use extreme care due to the possible high volume of traffic that may be using it.
