Red letter day for Postman Pat at Kendal premiere
It's not very often a film premiere is held in our region. But this weekend was an exception, as "Postman Pat: The Movie" made its northern debut in Kendal.
The original stories were set in the fictional village of Greendale which was based on the nearby village of Longsleddale. So it was a bit of a homecoming for Pat - but how has he stood the test of time?
Matthew Taylor went to find out:
The film is out in cinemas on Friday 23 May and has a cast including Stephen Mangan, David Tennant, Jim Broadbent, Rupert Grint and of course Postman Pat's black and white cat, Jess.

Kendal was chosen as the stories, by John Cunliffe, were set in the area. Longsleddale was the inspiration for Greendale in the books.
