Hopes for new Windermere Air Show

Plans to reintroduce the Windermere Air Show have been welcomed by local business owners. They say the show, which was last held in 2011, attracted thousands of people and brought in a great deal of money for the economy.

"It brought in at least 40,000 people every day for the weekend. It increased the turn-over for the businesses both in Windermere and here on the Glebe."

An events company wants to resurrect the popular Windermere Air Show in Cumbria.It brought in tens of thousands of visitors, but it caused controversy in 2011 and never ran again.Showcase events is looking for sponsors so it can put it on in September.
