Away from the controversy in Lauder, a record number of horses and riders have taken part in a significant anniversary riding festival over Flodden Field.
More than 450 people joined the cavalcade and rode through the fields where thousands of Scottish and Englishmen were slain 500 years ago.

An annual ride to commemorate the battle of Flodden is underway.
2013 marks 500 years since thousand of Scottish and English men, including King James IV, lost their lives on Flodden field.
Nearly 500 horses and riders are taking part in the Flodden Ride out, as part of Coldstream Civic Week.

Battle of Flodden remembered on 500th anniversary
Scores of riders will head out from Coldstream today to the battlefield of Flodden to mark the 500th anniversary of the clash between the English and the Scots.
There will be a service to remember some of the 15,000 soldiers who died there in 1513 as well as 100 noblemen and the Scottish King, James the Fourth, himself.

A site near Flodden Fields has been transformed into a 16th Century encampment this weekend.
Medieval craft demonstrations, living history performances and re-enactments were performed in Etal.
The 2-day event was part of the Flodden 1513 project, remembering the battle 500 years on.
