Wickerman Festival

It has been a busy weekend of events across our region with thousands of people attending the Wickerman Festival in Dumfries and Galloway.

The headliner was the singer songwriter Amy Macdonald, who grew up not too far away.

And as ever, the weekend ended with the burning of a straw man 25 feet tall.

Organisers of the Wickerman Festival say this year's event has been their most successful yet.

The two-day festival in Dumfries and Galloway sold out for the first time.

Scottish singer-songwriters Amy McDonald and KT Tunstall were among the top international acts playing alongside local bands.

The music event near Kirkcudbright is now in its 12th year.

Singer Amy MacDonald headlined the Wickerman Festival on the last night of the event on Saturday. It was her first time at the festival but she told ITV Border she's visited the region as a child.

The Wickerman Festival in Dundrennan, Dumfries and Galloway drew to a close last night with the midnight burning of a giant Minotaur Wickerman statue. The sell out crowd of 12,000 enjoyed two days of performances from acts including Amy MacDonald.

One of the region's biggest music festivals is underway in southern Scotland.

This year's Wickerman event, near Dalbeattie, sold out for the first time in its history.

The line up features Katie Tunstall, Amy McDonald and a wedding!
