Wainwright's notebook under the hammer
One of Alfred Wainwright's original notebooks is about to go under the hammer in Carlisle.
Wainwright was widely regarded as the leading expert on the Lake District's fells. His seven volume pictorial guide has become the standard reference book for walkers in Cumbria.
The blue bound ledger contains original drawings, maps and observations from Alfred Wainwright's own walks and is expected to go for between two and three thousand pounds.
