Man dies in A75 crash at Annan

A man has been confirmed dead after a crash on the A75.

A 66-year-old man, the driver of a red Suzuki Ignis, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency services.

The driver of a black Nissan Pulsar, a 56-year-old man, is in a critical condition after being taken to hospital.

The incident happened on the A75, west of the Annan east junction just after 1.50pm on 9 January 2025.

Sergeant Neil Moffat said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died and they have asked for privacy at this difficult time.

“Enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances and we are asking anyone who saw what happened to get in touch.

"In addition, if you have any dashcam please check it to see if there is anything that could assist our investigation.”

The road was reopened at about 10.20pm after being closed for investigation work.

The public are being urged to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1593 of 9 January 2025.
