Police appeal for information after protected bird of prey shot

A red kite has been found in Dumfries & Galloway with apparent gun shot injuries.

Police say the protected bird of prey was discovered near the A76 at Enterkinfoot between Thornhill and Sanquhar on 5 June.

It was taken to a vet but had to be put down due to the severity of the wounds.
