Covid-19 cases reported in Penrith pubs
The Board & Elbow and the Castlegate Arms pub in Penrith are the latest in Cumbria to report customers having tested positive for Covid-19.
Customers who visited on Friday 17 and Saturday 18 July have since been diagnosed with the virus.
Local authorities have given the Board & Elbow permission to remain open after a consultation with owners.
Owners of the pub said in a post on Facebook,
"The local authorities are more than happy with our approach to Covid-19 are we are following all relevant guidelines. Anyone with any questions please feel free to contact ourselves or EDC for advice."
The Castlegate arms said in an online statement,
"We had confirmation today that 2 members of the public that have visited The Castlegate arms on Friday and Saturday have tested positive for Covid-19. We are waiting to hear from local authorities on what step to take next but would like to urge any customers in The Castlegate Arms between these days that are concerned to go to your nearest testing site to get tested."
