Family of West Cumbrian woman pay tribute to her life as man is charged with her murder

The family of 43 year old Shelly Clark have said she was a "loving mother, daughter, sister, aunty, niece, cousin and friend," and will be "sorely missed."Police have charged 44 year old Trevor Green, from Cleator, West Cumbria, with her murder. Shelly is also from Cleator.

On Wednesday July 15th, police were called by the North West Ambulance Service at 7.35pm to a report of concern for the welfare of a woman at a property in Cleator Moor.

Shelly Clark died in the West Cumberland Hospital on Thursday night.

Her family have paid tribute to her life, and have said she'll be "sorely missed."They said: “Shelly was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunty, niece, cousin -and friend to many.

“She will be sorely missed.

“We have taken comfort from the messages we have received and would like to request privacy at this difficult time.”

A 62 year old man who was arrested during the enquiry has been released with no further action.

Green is due to appear before Workington’s magistrates’ court on Monday.
