Cumbria's hospitality and tourism industries started to reopen after being closed for more than 100 days due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Pubs, cafe's, restaurants, campsites and hotels were allowed to begin trading once more as the county continues to get back on its feet following lockdown.

How businesses operate has changed due to social distancing guidelines and when eating in diners are asked to leave contact details to assist with the governments track and trace system.

High Streets across Cumbria were busy with people keen to support their local businesses and have a taste of normality once more.

In Carlisle Boyd Hairdressers opened just after midnight to welcome their customers back. They made the decision to reopen to catch that extra trade and are already fully booked for the next few weeks.

In the tourism sector many businesses reopened but the Lake District was relatively quiet with only one person to seven crew on the first Windermere Cruiser.
