Mobile Covid-19 testing unit for D&G

An army staffed mobile testing unit is now available to key workers and those over the age of 65 in Dumfries and Galloway.

Amongst those who can receive a mobile test include those working in the food chain, transport, delivery and essential manufacturing. A full list can be found here.

Testing for health, social care and Council staff will continue to be delivered by the NHS at their testing sites in Dumfries and Stranraer.

Having been in Stranraer over the weekend, the unit will be available at the Mountainhall Treatment Centre in Dumfries on Wednesday this week, and then will be travelling around the region.

Anyone who falls into one of the categories above, and has symptoms of COVID-19 can book an appointment on the Scottish Government website.

As samples are tested in Glasgow results will take a few days to be returned, and staff in NHS Dumfries & Galloway are unable to access test results before you have received your result back.

The locations of the mobile testing unit will be advertised in advance via social and local media routes.
