Cyclist, 27, dies after falling from bike at Honister Pass

A cyclist has died after falling from his bike while descending Honister Pass, in the Lake District.

The 27-year-old man lost control while out riding with a friend. He suffered severe injuries.

Two off-duty medics, who were passing at the time, helped the man before Cumbria Police, Keswick Mountain Rescue, and air ambulance teams arrived.

After multiple efforts to try and save him, the man died.

A spokesperson from Keswick Mountain Rescue said: "Our thoughts and sympathies go out to the man’s family and friends."
