All flights to be suspended from Carlisle Airport
Carlisle Lake District Airport has suspended all flights from 27 March until further notice due to the coronavirus.
All scheduled flights to London Southend, Belfast City as well as those already suspended last week to Dublin are cancelled.
Simon Williamson, Managing Director of Carlisle Lake District Airport, said: “The unprecedented situation that we are all facing is having a major impact, with Government advising against all unnecessary travel.
"This decision reflects that important advice. Our priority must continue to be the health, safety and wellbeing of our employees, guests and the local community.
“Loganair has strongly advised that affected customers do not call their call centre as they are experiencing very high volumes of calls.
“We also want to take this opportunity to thank all our employees for their hard work during recent weeks, from implementing action plans to working to ensure the safety of all passengers and colleagues.
"The world as a whole is experiencing exceptional challenges right now and we appreciate your support and understanding.”
Loganair customers will be informed by email today (Monday 23 March) and fares will be refunded automatically.
