Coronavirus: Stockpiling threatens supply of foodbank
Video report by Hannah McNulty.
A foodbank in west Cumbria says some of the most vulnerable people could be affected by stockpiling.
North Lakes relies heavily on people giving donations at supermarkets, which they say they can't do due to some of the shelves being completely emptied.
It comes as scores of shoppers have been panic-buying essentials, leaving shelves bare as fears intensify over the spread of Covid-19.
The number of confirmedcases in the UK rose to more than 1,300, with 35 deaths from the virus.
Last year the foodbank in Workington provided three-day parcels for 6,500 people.
A third of those relying on the service are children, and there's concern that if schools close then more people will be dependent on the foodbank.
The UK is now in the "delay phase"of its response to the coronavirus outbreak. Under the plan, the Government is recommending those with mild coronavirus symptoms should self-isolate for seven days.
