Body of woman found in Carlisle park

The body of a woman has been found at a park in Carlisle.

Emergency services were called at 7:40am on Thursday 20 February after reports of a sudden death of a woman in Hammonds Pond, in the south of the city.

Police say the circumstances surrounding the death are not being treated as suspicious at this time and inquiries are ongoing.

The area has been sealed off to the public and several police cars are on the scene while investigations are underway.
