Multiple weather warnings - new one issued Saturday evening. Here's Emma's latest 'easy read' roundup...

There are multiple weather warnings in force for the ITV Border region over the next 24-48 hours, with a new one having just been issued at time of writing. Many of the warnings overlap and look quite complex, so here I've summarised the most critical ones for our area to give our viewers more of an 'at-a-glance' overview.

The Met Office advise against making unnecessary journeys on Sunday 9th February 2020, but if you must travel, then please do check the Met Office website overnight where the very latest information will be processed and warnings regularly updated.

This is an Amber warning for heavy rain for a small area of the Scottish Borders in the early hours of Sunday 9th February.This has been issued in the last hour or so due to an expected river response in two small rivers in the area. The warning runs from 2am - 10am Sunday morning. Warning of 30-50mm of rainfall, possibly 70mm locally.

There is a Yellow warning for heavy rain running from 9pm Saturday 8th - noon on Sunday 9th February. 20-40mm rainfall expected widely across the whole of the ITV Border area, especially the southern uplands, and possibly 60-80mm locally.

Yellow wind warning in force from noon Saturday 8th until midnight Sunday 9th February. 50-60mph winds, possibly 70mph gusts at the west coast.

Going forward into the new week a wind and snow warning has been issued for Monday 10th and Tuesday 11th February, affecting parts of Border. 1-3cm snow accumulations expected above 150 metres, 5-10cm above 300 metres and with gusts of 50-60mph this could mean blizzard conditions in places.
