Wheelchair users label Dumfries 'worst place in the region for accessibility'

A group of wheelchair users has labeled Dumfries as the "worst place in the region for accessibility".

Every day they have to battle what they claim are "unsuitable" roads and pavements which often result in them getting stuck or injured.

Cobbled streets, uneven pavement slabs and a lack of dropped curbs mean the simplest of tasks often become dangerous for wheelchair users.

When Lynsey had to regularly visit the Job Centre crossing the road took more than 10 minutes.

A journey that would take an able-bodied person seconds, was littered with obstacles for wheelchair users.

Our reporter Lewis Warner has been out with some of those now part of an action group demanding change.
