Man walks the length of Britain in a pair of speedos

An Everton fan is on a mission to walk from John o' Groats to Lands' End in nothing but a pair of speedos.

Michael Cullen, or "Speedo Mick", will cover 1000 miles on his journey to raise money for community projects for disadvantaged young people in Liverpool.

He set off on 10 December and has just passed through Dumfries and Galloway and into Carlisle.

Kind strangers have offered Mick somewhere to rest his head every night of the walk, which he hopes to raise £100,000 for completing.

He has already raised more than half of his final goal with more than a month left to go.

On Twitter he said: "Crossing the border line getting my groove on for the England leg thank you to the Scottish weather for letting me live . Scotland you are brutal, cruel and beautiful all in the same measure. Thank you so much to the Scots for your kindness, over to you England."

Mick has raised thousands of pounds for various charities over the years and was nominated for a Pride of Britain in 2016.

He will be spending New Year's Day in the North West of England, before continuing his journey onto Lands' End.
