Woman, 77, dies after being struck by car in Penrith

A woman who was seriously injured after being struck by a car in Penrith has died.

Emergency services were called to Victoria Road just before noon on 14 October.

Kathleen Boddy, 77, was a pedestrian when she was hit by a vehicle. She was airlifted to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle with serious injuries but died early morning.

Ms Boddy had recently moved to Cumbria from Essex.

The car involved in the collision was an Alfa Romeo, driven by a 46-year-old woman from the local area.

Cumbria Police continue to investigate the incident and have re-issued their appeal for witnesses to come forward.
