Soldiers taken to hospital after armoured vehicle overturns

Two soldiers were taken to hospital after their armoured vehicle overturned on the A75, Dumfries and Galloway.

A Panther light armoured vehicle left the road at around 3:18pm on Monday 14 October at Creetown Old Quay, Carsluith, Newton Stewart.

The 23-year-old driver and a 30-year-old passenger, both from Catterick, were taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary to be treated for a back and head injuries.

The passengers in rear seats came away unhurt.

The road was closed for several hours for the vehicle to be recovered.
