Weather: Waterspouts off Whitehaven, Cumbria

Some AMAZING pictures have been taken of a rare weather phenomenon off the Cumbrian coast.

Our unsettled weather caused rotating columns of wind from the base of cumulonimbus clouds.

Thesefunnel cloudsthen made contact with the sea - dragging up water into them.

They are usually weaker than most of their land counterparts - but make for an impressive sight.
