Help on hand for Scottish students receiving exam results

Helpline staff are gearing up for calls as pupils across Scotland receive theirexam results today.

Tens of thousands of youngsters are finding out the outcome of their National, Higher and Advanced Higher.

Whatever the results, helpline staff will be on hand to offer advice and information on all the options and opportunities available to the teenagers from 8am.

Experts from Skills Development Scotland (SDS) will be available to chat to from 8am.

Education Secretary John Swinney congratulated pupils on the work they have put in to achieve their results.

NSPCC Scotland counsellors are also on hand to help any young people worried about their results via the Childline service.

Samaritans Scotland is also urging young people to put their wellbeing first by asking for help if they're struggling.

The SDS helpline will be available from 8am to 8pm on Tuesday and Wednesday, and from 9am to 5pm weekdays from Thursday until Wednesday August 14.
