First Minister attends the Border Union Show
First Minister of Scotland, Nicola Sturgeon, went along to one of the most anticipated events on the farming calendar today.
The Border Union Show is a Kelso tradition stretching back more than 200 years, and sees animal shows, cookery demos and the famous border union ram sale.
Visitors will have the chance to meet more than 998 sheep from across the country. Rare breeds from across the globe will be on show such as Zwartable, a lively breed from the Netherlands.
The agricultural show will also host two National Cattle classes; the Scottish National Simmental Show and the 2019 Scottish Limousin Grandprix.
Musician and monster trucks will entertain and crowds are expected to enjoy a warm, but slightly wet, weather across the two days.
Officers are showcasing their finest Police Scotland Valtra Tractor and will be on hand across the two days.
The event will be held from Friday 26 to Saturday 27 July at Springwood, Kelso.
