Victoria bridge, the main road into Kendal, remains closed in both directions due to damage from heavy rain at the weekend.
The closure is necessary to carry out emergency repairs, but has resulted in traffic delays in the town centre.
South Lakes MP Tim Farron says the shutting of the bridge highlights the need for an alternative relief road into Kendal.
