Petition to rename city 'Ben-Stokes-on-Trent'
A cricket fan has set up a petition for Stoke-on-Trent to be renamed in honour of the World Cup legend Ben Stokes.
The petition, which has already seen more than 200 signatures, demands the city's name is changed to Ben-Stokes-on-Trent.
Dan North, the fan who came up with the idea, has vowed to deliver the petition to MPs if 100,000 people sign it.
England won the Cricket World Cup for the first time after a breathless final against New Zealand at Lord's on Sunday.
Ben Stokes, 28, who grew up in Cumbria, was named man of the match after steering the team to victory.
His impressive skill is said to have paved the way for a Super Over, a six-ball shoot-out that had only occurred 11 times in international history and never before at the World Cup
