Racist passenger tells other "get back to your own country"

British Transport Police are investigating reports that a passenger on the Borders Railway was racially abused.

The incident took place on a train between Edinburgh Waverley and Galashiels between 2-2:30pm, on 11 July.

It is reported that a man shouted abusive language to another and said "get back to your own country."

The suspect continued to be abusive towards the man who got off the train with his daughter at Galashiels railway station.

He is described as white, of medium build, with short dark brown hair. He was unshaven and wearing a t-shirt, an over-sized blue hoodie with a zip, and dark trousers and trainers.
